Communities Against Alcohol Harm supports communities in navigating alcohol licensing applications to reduce alcohol-related harm across Aotearoa.

Communities Against Alcohol Harm provides advice and support to local community organisations, members of the public, local government members and stakeholders relating to applications for alcohol licences within local community areas throughout Aotearoa.

CAAH, or Communities Against Alcohol Harm, was formed in 2014 and became a charity in 2022. CAAH started in South Auckland but is now working nationwide. We seek to assist communities who wish to oppose alcohol licences but find the process too hard or oppressive.

The purposes of CAAH are to:

A. Minimise alcohol-related harm through advocacy, community action, fostering networks, education and training.

B. Respect the dual heritage of the partners of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We have offices in Tamaki Makaurau and Otautahi, but also work in Northland, Waikato, Taupo, Palmerston North and throughout Te Waipounamu (South Island).
